Falconer For the Day Experience

“one day introduction to falconry experience” offers a unique insight into the art of falconry. Throughout the day, emphasis is “hands on” and you will be given the chance to handle and fly many different species of raptors. The birds used on the experience days are owls, hawks, buzzards,falcons and eagles.

The day begins with a tour of the centre where you will be introduced to the birds that you will be encountering on the experience. You will be shown different techniques for handling birds of prey safely which will be followed by a step-by-step guide to training a bird of prey.

Throughout the day we will be flying a huge selection of our birds as well as several practical demonstrations from trimming beaks and talons to preparing food for the birds.

The day begins at 9am and finishes at approximately 3pm. A light lunch and refreshment breaks are included and the Falconry staff will be on hand to ensure you have an enjoyable and special day at the centre

The day costs £110.pp and includes lunch.

The minimum age for this experience is 14yrs, under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Any friends/family members of a participant on the Falconer for a Day Experience are welcome to the centre (during normal opening hours, 10am onwards) and are charged the entrance fee. You would be able to see the participant at certain times throughout the day but not accompany them on the experience)
